Ordained Praise personifies the essence of the word unity. Together these three young men, all from Latino backgrounds, have a cohesiveness that is not only heard through their music but also communicated through their mission as artists. Although only together for just a few years, they have the ability to come across as “brothers” who have been destined to sing together. All of them have their own unique element but a common goal. Their clean and tight sound invite you into their “world” as contemporary Christian musicians which ultimately opens your heart to receive the message in their songs.

The three young men that make up the group, Gustavo Ortega, Joivan Jimenez, and Noah Chaparro Jr. met in 2002 to help a mutual friend with a school project. The music project had to be presented at Full Sail Recording School in Orlando, Fl., and what was planned to be a casual onetime event turned into a new musical journey. They discovered that they all had something in common, a love for music and a love for their commitments as Christians.

What set them apart are not only the clarity and harmony of their vocals, but also their keen sense of direction. Their unique sound is placed on a backdrop of R&B, Hip Hop, and Gospel with a subtle influence of their Latino music heritage. They make it a point to incorporate all elements of these music influences to form a unique and progressive sound for mass cross appeal.

Although coming from different backgrounds, the discovery of their “call” as musicians took a similar path that can be attributed to their Christian faith and commitments. Gustavo (Gus) , originally from Puerto Rico, has always loved praising the Lord through music but it wasn’t until he tried out for the high school choir that he realized he had talent. Joivan, originally from Panama, always showed a passion and love for worship and the word of God as a child. He participated in various choirs and studied music as a youngster. Noah, also from Puerto Rico, has been exposed to music since he was still in his mother’s womb while both his parents were recording their first music project. He started singing in church at age 4. Although he was exposed to music all his life it wasn’t until he was 12, when he started to learn how to play the guitar that he started to appreciate music as a means of expression and ministry.

Ordained Praise’s common goal is to take Christian Music and elevate it to a new and exciting level. They are committed to making sure that their sound is heard worldwide. The group has brought audiences to their feet with their smooth sound and has also brought them to their knees through the message in their songs. Ordained Praise is destined to always give their listeners a sound that is not only entertaining, but life changing.
